If I pay 145.00 a month for cable (Which is every single channel) and I want to see an older showing of Rome or The Sopranos its not as bad as you try to make it out to be either.

Its Peer to peer file transfers without an overhead, the only server-side interaction is a tracking server that retains all the needed info about the data, and some of the data for CRC checking purposes. Without that Tracking server, there will be will be no filedata getting transfered.

I never got into the torrents but for downloading stuff over the net if you put it there or let it get there its your own fault if you ask me..
I say they should have left Napster alone in the beginning along with all the other P2P's but its big money that drives it as does Exxon drive the price of gasoline. Who are we to decide whats wrong or right since we don't have billions of dollars to force what we think on society...

You opened your mouth and stuck your foot in it. There are MANY software developers and Internet video producers who use Torrents as a means of moving files around. The Torrent servers store no copyright data whatsoever on their servers, only the files that are needed to guide the swarms and to keep the torrent traffic running the right way. Its just another way to stifle open internet use. You will see sites that will open up as legit and will charge a fee for using their services for something that could be free. Its not the point of what the people use it for , its the point of the site being raided that contains no copyrighted material on it as well as a Political Forum server that didn't even contain any of the torrent data.

actually i did my research and from other sites found out that site was dealing with aiding illegal software as well as movies...
it not bitorrent is the problem but these servers...
and aiding is the same thing as doing the deed...
just like robbing a bank..just because you not physically there but help move the money afterwards still part of it..but of course if it makes you feel good...then sure make believe you did not do anything wrong...
