Ways I was disciplined by teachers from grade school through high school:

1. grabbed by hair
2. grabbed by ears
3. wooden paddles
4. humiliated in front of classmates
5. 3 sided rulers to the knuckles
6. metal paddle
7. foot in arse
8. detention
9. suspension
10. excersizes (run laps, pushups, leg lifts etc)

Any regret? No, because no lasting damage done and I deserved most all of it!

No, not really, but at times I was quite the evil little lad.
Keep in mind that when I attended grammar school, we were disciplined for:
1. talking in class
2. chewing gum
3. gleeful attitudes

All of the above resulted in some type of discipline, including notes to parents that had to be signed by them.

Heck, we got disciplined when we stood in line at the water fountain at recess and were wound up from playing. Teacher would yank hair, smack us on the arms etc etc. Yes, we were given warnings at first, but who listened to the warnings! Warnings were threats, not advice. We got spanked so much that we teacher threats had no effect anymore and we were willing to take a few paddles in exchange for the fun and for the pride in holding our beliefs.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
