you gave it time to let them update... I updated same day of release and half of mine were disabled cause they weren't compatible. Aside from that I've NEVER had a add-on issue...NEVER.

When going to the top firefox toolbar and then clicking on "help" then "About Firefox" version says 8.0, not 8.0.1 .. It also says that firefox is already up to date. Does anyone know how to manually force an update? I know I could backup my favorites and then reinstall..

Just download 8.0.1 and run it...the installer will see it as an update - no need to backup anything.

Also for everyone Firefox 9.0 Beta 6 Released

they did the same thing with 8, just prob a bug that was found once thousands of people started using it under other conditions Mozilla didn't see when they tested.

Just curious, do you guys install new version of FF over the previos version or do you do a fresh install of it? Does it matter if you just install over previous version?

thx

Firefox 12 will feature long-awaited New Tab Page and Home Tab

Post by Sava700 »

Image
After a long gestation period, it now appears that Firefox 12 — which moves to the Aurora channel at the end of the month — will feature the long-awaited New Tab Page and Home Tab. The new tab page is very like Chrome’s feature of the same name. The home tab builds off the new tab page popularized by Chrome and Opera, but then throws in ton of Firefox-unique functionality.

At the moment, the new tab page really just shows you a 3-by-3 grid of your most-visited websites (pictured above). You can pin a tile, or — if Firefox has turned up a particularly embarrassing site — you can hide a tile (in which case the next-most-popular site appears). You can also drag and drop the tiles to rearrange them. For now, that’s the extent of the new tab page’s functionality.
