My home production should be picking up now....7 GHz back online now that my new Conroe gaming rig is finished, and my older P4 is up and running as my home server again.

I so wish!! Dream of a lifetime for me. Can't get any of them here, and the sattelite in this area just sucks! So .... I do each one manually when they are ready to send and receive, switching to whatever machine is necessary, when its time. Keeps ya busy!

Hey bud :thumb:

Seen a pick up for sure since you joined us. Check out the link in my sig and it shows the Fat Dogs progress, as well as SG itself. You can also follow the current pointage compared to previous weeks or months. Great site.

If that computer is not used that often, or turned on I should say...there is an option in the setup to request units without a time limit...then it matters not how long it takes to complete. If it stays on...no necessary on line...it will continue to work the unit. For sending only...it will be held in queue until it IS turned on the net. You won,t lose the unit. And you betcha! It all counts!

The only time a network connection is at all necessary for the folding, is to send and receive new units, if that helps a bit more. That last one almost confused me! lol! The program of folding itself, will run anytime the machine is on.

And if you dont want the CPU running at 100% all the time you can lower it in the settings by changing available CPU from 100 to whatever you are cool with.

When im encoding i have to turn it off (pause), even when its low priority it takes 50% of each core. But thats just for 1 hour since encoding with conroe is ummmm awesome.
As for wifes comp she has FX62 with 10mbit downstream but like you said it doesnt matter, but its gonna be help for FAT_DOGS anyway.Better something than nothing no ? :)

I just got some of my machines folding. Got an AMD 64 x2 dual core 4200+ running two instances since last night. Got a p4 3ghz running this morning at the shop. And a dual celeron system running two instances this morning at the shop. I wonder how soon I will be able to see my stats?
I have about 30 old systems upstairs. I wonder at what point I should draw the line as to being to slow to bother with? I was thinking about 500mhz? Input welcome. (have several xp cpu's will get going asap.) :)

I draw my line at the 1.0GHz mark....else they take several weeks or more..go to turn in their jobs...get the equiv of a "past due date" like your handing in your paper on the civil war a month late to your history teacher.

Thanks for adding to our army! :thumb:

Welcome aboard JoeCool 169! Thanks for joining us. In answer to your stats question, if I remember correctly, once your first unit is complete, it should be showing in the stats by the following day. From that point, every other unit you fold will show up in your stats within a few hours. :)

Draw the line where ya start to notice it on the eletric bill I'd say. If you Run all 30 all the time, that would probably make a visable mark on the electric bill lol

:thumb: Good Job!! I am unfortunately maxed at my 13 for right now. There is ABSOLUTELY no more room in this corner, no more free outlets, no more extention cords available! :rotfl: I will however, as needed, and funds allow, replace my single processors with dualies. Thanks for the boost!
