You too? It's like...the computer gods were angry today, all 3 of us were flat out with 911 call after 911 call after 911 call. Most insane day I've seen....cell phone ringing off the hook, and 9 out of 10 calls were someone with a big problem. Servers blowing up with missing system/hive issue, switches cooking, mice dying, computers stuck at applying computer settings, dying printers, failing hard drives....you name it!

 Yep.. it's was the "after labor day holiday I did not care about it before the holiday but I needed everything back on line now" rush.

lol amen to that! My stress today was mostly carryover stress from last week that finally got taken care of today. I don't even know where to begin. <<<takes a big sip of beer>>> Basically a local hospital is taking over a local cardiology center but doesn't want to keep the mobile ultrasound division which has always been a big competitor to one of my employers. So we are taking over their ultrasound division (doubling the size of our business) and attempting to shoehorn their LIVE workflow into ours while the hospital begins simultaneously taking over every other aspect of their business.

Their dedicated IT dept is running around with their heads cut off and fully committed all their resources to dealing with everything BUT the ultrasound division. Meanwhile no ultrasound accounts have been put on hold so we are essentially merging two completely different LIVE workflows (did I mention we use completely different PACS systems?) that cannot stop servicing doctor offices all over the central FL area. Last week was a doozy.. We had major issues with an ultrasound machine of theirs and had to fly in GE engineers and drop ship extra equipment to us so our newly acquired field techs could do their jobs. If new equipment comes in then i have to configure it to operate seamlessly with the different systems and bring the field techs up to speed on the differences as they basically go through trial by fire training on the differences between the two workflows.. Wait, did that sentence even make sense? <<burp!>>

To make a long story short.. it's a major clusterf*** and today I finally solved our 3 most critical issues which were HUGE! So.. basically, I earned the right to be on my 4th beer right now. I'm so glad it's a short work week.

I wish I could find either Saint Pauli Girl's Dark beer, or Beck's dark beer, those were two of my favorite dark imports. Cant find them anywhere.
