Monitor prob: Off mode in 5 seconds..

Post by Mehmet »

hey guys, sup?

a friend of mine moved his computer downstairs to another room theyve got..

heres the problem, after they moved it, whenever they opened up the comp, the screen would just go into standby, saying off mode in 5 seconds.. I thought it was the vid card, and i brought it over to my house and tried it.. it worked perfectly.... I tried resetting the bios.. and nothing happened..

specs:
MSI K7t266 pro 2-ru.
athlon xp 1800
Visiontek Geforce 3 ti500..
512 megs of ram..

So whats up with it you guys? is it a faulty monitor?? (it was working perfectly before..)

Can you get into windows? If you can, go into power options and check the monitor settings. Could be in standby mode. Disable it.

If you can't get into windows what that monitor, see if you can use a different monitor.

Post by ericwunder99 »

im having a problem with my monitor and tower. the port you connect your monitor wire to in the tower. when i go to turn on my computer, the monitor stays on standby and i would go to turn it off then back on it stays black. my uncle suggested to me that the computer may be giving a low signal to the monitor. can i get some help or any suggestions of wht to do.
