How is everyone doing?

Post by Debbie »

I am hanging in there. I have been working from home for 7 weeks now. I am getting stir crazy.

Last I heard they are going to start disinfecting the subway trains every 24 hours late in the evening.

I don't miss being on them.

As for that 6 foot distancing thing. I don't buy it. I am staying away from people ... period!

I hope all is well with all of you.

My girlfriend is working from home and occupying herself with daily workouts, jogging, knitting, fiddle practice, teaching herself to both read and write music, training her dog, cooking, and taking 2 different French language courses.

I'm watching lots of movies and youtube and watching the grass grow outside :)

That was the northern part of New Rochelle. I live in the west end. They lifted the containment zone last month. But, the first case (which was an attorney) commuted to Manhattan via Metro North.

I am in a high risk category due to the fact that I have asthma. We received notice on the job that if we are to work from home and have health issues, we had to submit a doctor's note just saying that we are at high risk. So, that is what I did.

I don't miss the subway ride or the office drama lol.

Someone in our neighborhood passed away. The fire department EMT's were wearing hazmat suits and full face masks. After the body was removed, I took a video of the EMT's getting hosed off with either soap or some type of disinfectant while they still had their hazmat suits on. I never saw anything like that before.

Mr and Mrs Easto are doing ok. We're just trying to deal with stuff everyone else is. Mrs Easto did lose her job but I'd say there's about a 50% chance the company might make it through all this and hire her back, but for not we're having to play the cards we were dealt.

Hi Kane, good to see you around :) It's ok answering random topics, forums are still not a lost art ;) Reddit seems to be thriving, etc., I imagine because of the focus around common themes.

Debbie you should have moved to Astoria... no subways there!

Glad to see your doing well aside from the boredom thing.

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box ;).

Though our state started reopening, I'm still staying at home because it is still too risky to go outside specially now with hospitalization rates rising.

Hi Debbie.

Florida just hit 100k Covid-19 cases, 3.2k deaths. It was down to 4-500 new cases per day in May, but since reopening it has been climbing, it is now up to 3-4,000 new cases per day.

Although I'm concerned about the figures not only here in Southern California, I also keep track of the overall US cases and deaths. Although the cases (at least for today) seem to be rising overall and starting to plateau higher than they should be... the deaths seem to be going lower and lower. There always seems to be a drastic dip in deaths about 1 day a week, but I think that is due to the fact that it is a Sunday and most of the reporting facilities are short staffed or either they put it off until Monday. There always seems to be a death spike on Mondays and Tuesdays.
