I recently switched from ATT UVERSE DSL
When I downloaded anything I always got 1.8 or 1.9 speed. Speedtest.net always said 10 down and 2 up
Now with Comcast Speedtest.Net says 24 down.
Whenever I download ANYTHING I am only getting 1.9 or 2.0 download speeds. This seems way too low for me.
I have tried every possible combo. Wired, wireless, everything on every computer and the results are the same. Whether it be Microsoft, STEAM gaming, World of Warcraft patching, GOG.com or anything the download speed is a paltry 1.9 or 2.0 MB/s
I think that is a huge rip off. Any ideas?
I am using a brand spanking new Comcast XFINITY Wireless Gateway
SMCD3GNV,
TG852G, TG862G or TC8305C
802.11n
Modem, the one featured in this article.

Brand new right off the truck. I just literally had service installed two days ago
Why is Comcast downloads speed so slow? MB/s wise

Please look into the differences of "bandwidth" measurements........compared to "transfer speed" measurements.
ISPs advertise their speed as bandwidth....in bits per second.
Downloads are transfer speeds...in bytes per second.
You may have a 20 megabit per second account from Comcast.....yet you can download at 2.5 megabytes per second.
8 bits to a byte
so take 20 and divide by 2.5...and there's 8!
The math is close to correct.
