Interesting Camera Problem

Post by Rainbow »

This is a customers computer and I have never seen this problem before.

When he transfers images from the camera to the computer it distorts them randomly and not all pics and usually not the same pic twice.
If I connect the cam and view the pics on the cam they are all perfect. When I drag them over about 30 pics 3 or 4 will be distorted with lines in them and different colors.
He bought a brand new camera thinking it went bad and new camera does the same thing. Take camera to another computer and everything is perfect.
When he prints the pics they print distorted exactly as they look on the screen.
Windows 7 Ultimate with high end video card (not sure what one) I will post a sample pic when i get back there tomorrow.

Any Ideas??

Never seen that before either.
What are you using to view the images on the PC?

Same cable or memory card?

Could also be a card reader issue, or a memory problem.

Memory card formated in the camera, not using a reader just a direct connect to the pc then viewing the pics on the camera just by going to my computer and bringing up the cam as a hard drive, on there they look fine, only when I transfer them over do SOME get messed up......if I delete all those and transfer them again different ones are messed up.......On a different computer they are fine no problems at all.
Yes I have tried another cable.
Its just weird never seen anything like it before, at first I thought it was just the video messing up but nope it prints the way you see it too.
Computer has a fresh install of 7 ultimate about 2 months ago.
I'd really hate to reformat it again.

It doesn't matter what he views it with, the nikon program or just windows picture viewer same results
