Corsair or Patriot USB flash drive?

Post by purecomedy »

I'm looking to buy a 16 Gb USB flash drive just to carry files around easily.

Seems like the price of both Corsair and Patriot USB flash drives is reasonable.

Does anyone have any recommendation for or against one or the other?

I guess the main thing I would want to avoid is a brand that frequently fails.

Hands down Patriot, I have owned a few of each and I've had to RMA the Corsairs more than once, never an issue with the Patriot and they are blazing fast.

Interesting, the comments on the corsair is consistent with the feedback on the website I was just on (most comments from 2008 timeframe).

Only bad experience I've had with these USB flash drives so far is the OCZ one I bought for my mom died in less than a year, and she maybe used it 5 times.

Thanks.

I always buy Corsair or Crucial RAM so I tried Corsair flash drives, they all went bad within a year, Corsair was great about replacing it for free. But the Patriots, I use them daily, a lot daily, and have never had a single issue and they are faster.
