Hi,
I have been experiencing a problem with one of my computers. It boots fine as is, but as soon as I install my Linksys WMP600N wireless network adapter, the monitor does not come on when I reboot. After some digging I found the most likely problem was an IRQ conflict (which I thought had all but disappeared years ago.) I am running Windows Vista on that machine, which is a HP Pavillion a620n. I removed my external video card (AGP) and sound card (PCI), which were both operating on IRQ 16 and switched to the onboard video card, which has no IRQ listed for it. Figured this fixed it but, when I booted with the adapter inside, monitor still would not come on. I tried all 3 PCI slots with no luck. Does anyone have any solutions? It is our third computer in the house so it is an afterthought after living here for 2 months, but it is for my two youngest daughters who really want internet access upstairs.
Thanks for reading!

Some things I would try...
*Update BIOS of the system to the latest version
*Look for some settings in the BIOS to enable plug and play OS
*Disable non-needed onboard devices, such as the parallel port (LPT1 which will be IRQ7), and if there's an external COM port (serial...IRQ 4 or 3). This can free up IRQs and let other settle down.
*Try a setting in the BIOS to enable APIC...which effectively doubles the IRQ range..although most relatively new computers run this by default now.
