Post by albertldee »

is there any computer with hot swap sata hard drive i want to setup a server in a room with 30 computer i'm trying to stay away from rack server simple because they are noisey i saw this one on newegg but a little big the only reason for me needing hotswap is i need to setup 30 computer i want to setup a server for authentication i will be a good distance away so just in case something go wrong i will have a secondary computer to just switch out the hard drive i dont know if this can be done with a hot swap hub

Yes there are quite a few good server brands which make entry level servers with hot swap SATA drives. HP Proliants, Dell PowerEdges.

Rack servers aren't always noisy, 1U models tend to be a little noisier, but 2U models don't need as many fans and are usually a little more quiet.

Sticking with a good tier 1 brand, you don't have to worry about one having a problem as much as you would with some no-name or cloner brand. So paying more for 1 server may come out cheaper than paying for 2 lesser quality boxes.
