Looking for a new graphics card

Post by JamieLee2k »

I wondered if anyone can help me find a decent yet cheap graphics card, I have £50 to spend max so this might give someone some help.

I currently have XFX GeForce 7600GT XXX Edition

Remember I am in the UK so any you suggest I would need to find.

Here are a few sites in the UK to make things a bit easier

I guess an ATI 4650. Do you need a new card or just want one?

The sweet spot for budget and performance seems to be teh 4770, but thats a little bit more.

So would you say ati is better than nvidia?

I have never used ati in any computer I have owned so I know nothing about them.

Overall I prefer Nvidia but they don't have anythign at the 4770 price point that I know of yet. ATI went to 40nm first.

I am not sure about this one, how many games require a certain amount of RAM?

The 9600GSO would be in the same range as the 4650, maybe a bit better. Don't worry about the onbard RAM any choices will be enough at 384-512. You'll run into a problem with the cards not being powerful enough to run the games first.
