New Modem-MTU-MSS help

Hello friends I´ve bought a new modem intelbras.But the mtu/mss values are not ok according to speedguide,follow the results.I have 1500kbps down/300kbpsup :) vista ultimate,I checked and in the modem mtu setting is 1500,but on the test result shows 1392.

Try the following with TCP Optimizer and see if MTU will change:

General Settings tab:
Custom settings - check
Modify All Network Adapters - check
network adapter selection - your NIC
MTU - 1500
TTL - 64
Windows Scaling - uncheck
TCP Receive Window - leave blank
MTU Discovery - Yes
Black Hole Detect - No
Selective Acks - Yes
Max Duplicate ACKs - 2
TCP 1323 Options:
Timestamps - uncheck

Advanced Settings tab:
Max Connections per Server - 10
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 10
LocalPriority - 5
Host Priority - 6
DNSPriority - 7
NetbtPriority - 8
Lan Browsing speedup - optimized
QoS: NonBestEffortLimit - 0
ToS: DisableUserTOSSetting - 0
ToS: DefaultTOSValue - 80
MaxNegativeCacheTtl - 0
NetFailureCacheTime - 0
NegativeSOACache Time - 0
LAN Request Buffer Size - 32768

I applied vista patch,(cause I don´t know if tcp optimizer works with vista)
TCP Window in Vista cannot be tweaked with TCP OPtimizer but in some cases, it's used for increasing MTU !

Have you updated modem firmware ?
on vista tweaks thread,I´ve read about checking you MTU value through cmd prompt
netsh interface ipv4 show subinterface
in mine shows 150:confused:

I don´t think so,one more question,I´ve tested my modem on shields up website,and it failed,all ports closed,some stealth,but they received ping replies,I tried everything but I can´t figure it out,how to set up this modem to avoid ping replies :rolleyes:
I think I´ll have to use it in bridge mode,what do you think rollingstone?

I didn´t use tuneup utlilites to tweak the internet connection,I´ve followed a tutorial on how to route a modem.I even tried to put 1500 on the field,but it didn´t change the mtu value. :rolleyes:

I think your MTU limitation caused by your modem !
Is my log clean rollingstone?
It's Ok ! But Sidebar & Firewall has tendency to slow down your comp !

It's Ok ! But Sidebar & Firewall has tendency to slow down your comp !
I know that,but I can´t live without them,lol
