Im grinning while I read this forum
What a load of bull.
ANY OS is only as secure as the amount of knowledge the user has of it, and or programming code analysis.
A virus or spyware could be on a linux distro, and the average user would never know it's there. Even some who veiw themselves as linux experts can't read and decipher code that is hidden well by the REAL experts and coders.
At least with Windows (not windoz) and Microsoft (not Microfraud) software is signed and backed up by a multi billion dollar responsible company constantly, and persistantly doing their utmost best to limit and repair problems as they arise from the criminals out there doing their best to make Microsoft look bad.
Microsoft is a great company, doing so much for so many world wide.
Google Microsoft donations some day and see the billions they give away to help less fortunate people. Page after page on google of millions here, millions there, all for the good of humanity.
You'll never come to these forums and get away with bad mouthing Microsoft if I see the post. You see, I'm a Microsoft MVP, and they have done so much for me I can't begin to put it all into words.
IMHO Linux sucks when it comes to ease of use, and after downloading and installing just about every distro of linux out there I can assure everyone that none work as well as, or install as well as and easy as ANY version of windows past 3.0.
Linux distros have a long way to go before they get the converts they're hoping for.
In short, it's not the fault of MS that the Linux crowd and the anti MS crowd keep working on code to attack every little mistake MS makes in securing the OS. If the MS crowd, and anti Linux crowd were to make the same effort against linux then linux would suufer from the same bad rep. But that won't happen because the MS crowd believes in obeying the law and basically are good people.

Well said and I am even a linux user. And linux can be exploited as well, if you have the right idiot behind the keyboard. Not to mention, if you do not know what you are doing you can mess up linux on your own as much as any virus. And it has been said many times. If linux received the same amount of work windows does to be attacked, you could see more issues with it as well. Now I do not like windows for many reasons and pick linux hands down, but saying it is like a superman software and impermeable to all is just plain ignorant.Norm wrote:What a load of bull.
