I am so sick and tired of Paris. She is not great looking, has no talent beyond what she showed in her porno tape and popular only because she is filthy rich and can "buy" her stardom. Without the "Hilton" connection, she would just be another blond bimbo. <Rant mode off>

She knew she was guilty. If you look at all the pics she's not wearing any jewelry, earring, watch, rings etc. Her attorney probably told her she had a better than average chance she was going to jail that day. Why bring valuables if you know you're going to jail. :thumb:

She'll never do the time. She'll be allowed out on bail while her appeal is pending. There will be money thrown around and she'll do community service.

California law allows bail during appeal of a misdemeanor.

we'll see. ;)

"Free Paris Hilton!" Petition Begs
Asks Gov. Schwarzenegger To Pardon Bumbling Heiress For Latest Misdeeds
you have got to be kidding...
Just as lawyers have taken the first step to appeal her 45-day jail sentence, a petition directed to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been posted on Paris Hilton's official MySpace page.

Written by a friend named Joshua, the petition, directed to the California governor, asks that the socialite be pardoned.

"This petition is to ask Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton for her mistake. Please allow her to her return to her career and life. Everyone makes mistakes. She didn't hurt or kill anyone, and she has learned her lesson. She is sincere, apologetic, and full of regret for her actions as she explained tearfully to the Judge handling her case in court yesterday. She is distraught and understandably afraid," the online petition says.

The 26-year-old heiress was ordered by a judge on Friday to report to a county jail by June 5 for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"We, the American public who support Paris, are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that Drunk Driving is wrong," the petition continues. "We do not support drunk driving or DUI charges. Paris should have been sober. But she shouldn't go to jail, either."
Hilton's lawyers filed a notice with the court indicating their intent to appeal on Friday. The document is required before a formal appeal can be lodged.

The hotel heiress, who parlayed her party lifestyle into worldwide fame, said she believes the sentence was unfair.

"I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted and I don't deserve this," Hilton told photographers assembled outside her home Saturday.

It was announced over the weekend that Hilton and her longtime publicist, Elliot Mintz, would no longer work together. She apparently took advice from him instead of her lawyers.

"I believe when Paris stated in court that she believed it was OK for her to drive under certain circumstances she was being absolutely truthful," Mintz said in a statement. "Due to this misunderstanding, I am no longer representing Paris. For the record, I have nothing but love and respect for Paris and her family."

the little you know what is trying to get out of it when you have everyday people getting jail time of perhaps a year and way more than she will prob ever get.. where do I sign a petition to make sure she serves her time! :irate: :irate:

ohh God here we go some more....

This is total BS! She should spend her time in jail like everyone else!
Paris Hilton might not serve 45 days
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Paris Hilton may spend far fewer than 45 days in county jail for violating probation because of state policies and jail overcrowding, authorities said Thursday.

Hilton, sentenced last week to do the time, could spend three weeks or less behind bars because of a state requirement that grants inmates time off for good behavior and because of overcrowding in the system, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

"It's possible that it could be 21 days, 23 days. It's a complicated formula that the state sets down. It's possible that she could do less time," Whitmore told The Associated Press.

As for overcrowding, "our jail is bursting at the seams" and some women inmates have been released after serving only 10 percent of their sentence, Whitmore said.

Last year, "Lost" actress Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced to 60 days in jail for violating probation after her drunken driving arrest in Hawaii. She was released in hours because of overcrowding.

Hilton's time will be determined when she is booked into the county system, Whitmore said.

She will not receive any favors because she is a celebrity, he added.

"She will be treated like any other inmate who's classified as a low-level security risk," Whitmore told the Los Angeles Times, which first reported the development on its Web site.

A call to Hilton's publicist seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Hilton, 26, was sentenced last week for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. A judge ordered her to report to the women's jail in Lynwood by June 5.

Hilton intends to appeal and her fans have posted a petition on the Internet urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon her.

The problem is, and I think that she may have a case and get off if her lawyer is good enough, is that the judge that handed her the sentence has never given anyone a 45 day jail term for the violations which she committed. He has always given 5-10 day jail terms for the same violations, so she's arguing why she's getting 45 days and not the norm like everyone else. Either way, she'll do jail time which should teach her dumb@ss a lesson!

Omg.... I can't believe the crap this girl is coming up with... she better do every single day!!!
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Paris Hilton is "emotionally distraught and traumatized" over her 45-day jail sentence and is not capable of testifying in a civil lawsuit against her, the socialite-reality TV star's psychiatrist said.

Dr. Charles Sophy has been seeing Hilton, 26, for the past eight months and has talked with her several times since her May 4 hearing for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case, according to court papers.

Sophy said Hilton needs time to recover from the shock of receiving jail time before testifying in a civil case brought against her by actress and diamond heiress Zeta Graff.

Messages left with Hilton's spokesman and lawyer were not immediately returned early Tuesday. (Watch a Hilton family friend say Paris deserves to do time Video)

In court papers filed Monday, Sophy said Hilton is "distraught and traumatized as a consequence of the findings at the May 4 hearing ... and her fear of incarceration."

"At this point in time," he continued, "Ms. Hilton cannot effectively respond to examination as a witness or provide any significant input into her defense."

Graff filed a $10 million lawsuit against Hilton in 2005, claiming the reality TV star spread "vicious lies" about her. Hilton has denied that she was behind a report alleging Graff once tried to grab a necklace worth $4 million from her throat.

Superior Court Judge Linda K. Lefkowitz postponed the trial to August. It had been scheduled to begin this month.

Hilton and her pal Nicole Richie star on "The Simple Life," which throws them into everyday situations. After famously feuding and filming their parts separately last season, the celebutantes have reunited as camp counselors for the show's upcoming fifth installment.

total BS...if she was any normal everyday girl that did that she would get the time..but nooooo i love our justice system.
Hilton's good behavior cuts jail time to 23 days
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said.

The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a "special needs housing unit" at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said.

Hilton will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates, he said.

Like everyone else in the 2,200-inmate facility, Hilton will get at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, he said.

The 26-year-old socialite was sentenced to jail this month for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. A judge ordered her to report to jail by June 5.

A call to her lawyer, DUI specialist Richard Hutton, was not immediately returned. Her publicist, Elliot Mintz, declined to comment.
