Besides water...
what else is healthy to drink? I'm back to the exercise routine, but water gets pretty bland after awhile. I want to have something else in the fridge besides OJ and milk. Neither of them quench thirst very well.
So...what else is healthy that I'm overlooking?
Thanks.

Flavored seltzers. The one liter bottles are fairly inexpensive. I usually kill the fizz a bit.

I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.

Home made iced tea has anti-toxin agents. It is so easy to make these days...six to eight tea bags in a gallon of fresh water and let it sit till it is the strength you like...and you got some good stuff.mountainman wrote:what else is healthy to drink? Hi mountainman
Something i just became aware of is "Pomegranate Juice".
They say 1 Glass a day is sufficient to obtain the benefits therein.
It is Delicious and a very powerful Antioxidant. Great for the Heart and curbing Plaque buildup, so they say.

Larry, you are correct, it is great for the body!
Many people probably don't know that "Grenadine" is pomegranate juice. It is used to mix drinks, giving them their red/pink color, although now a days, Grenadine isn't pure Pomegranate juice...
Full of antioxidants...

Hi Ken
Pleased to see you back. i do hope all is well.
Yes i saw an article on it awhile back and then it was on a local News Station as well. It seems to be a well accepted drink for its healing powers.
We used to eat Pomegranate fruit as kids. Not too available though due to short Season. The Extract or juice solves that problem though.
Take care Ken

Although green teas, white teas and a variety of juices are quite heathful, the might not meet the criteria for hydration. Teas can have a diuretic effect while juices have high carbohydrate contents and a syrupy texture.
Flavored and vitamin enriched waters are an excellent choice. I have become a fan of the Magic Bullet mixer.

I'm thinking of something that you can also get liquid refreshment from....SUCK IT.mountainman wrote:Already have a CamelBak.
Did you miss the point of the thread?
LOL

Water is the best(well, some electrolyte laden stuff out there that rocks) for thirst and what the body needs. Nothing tastier than some clean cold water(IMO) when yer sweating bullets.

I have my own grapevines here...and one of my favorite summer thirst quenchers is grape juice, (I prefer the concord grapes, but any will do)) mixed with a bit of pineapple juice, lemon and lime juice. mixed in a blender with a scoop of lime sherbert floating on top. Great taste..great thirst quencher, and its pretty too!
I use the pineapple juice for a natural sweetener. Sugar just makes you thirstier in the long run...and most sour citus juices will eliminate that. Enjoy!
