Post by Master6977 »

ok I was told by an aol rep that i could order just the highspeed from comcast and then go with a diff provider and only have to pay half the regular amount cause i would have to pay say 10-15 for the highspeed then additional 10 for the internet making it 20-25 for everthing with no fees going up after 6 months just not sure how to call comcast and what to ask for in order to do this any help would be appreciated thanks

Maybe you should check out Comcasts site.. Thats where I would start. AOL rep needs to get off the drugs.. http://comcast.com/Benefits/CHSIBenefits.asp?LinkID=21

There would be no difference as far as the cost from Comcast goes, but I think what the aol rep was referring to was the "Bring Your Own Access" plan, where you get online service thru an isp such as comcast, then you pay around $15 for access to AOL, instead of the full fee that you would normally if you had to have dial up access thru them to connect...

Ummm... NOT TRUE!!!

Please do not believe the AOL sales rep. Apparently you called them to discontinue your service and they are doing whatever it takes to keep your business. HA! Here is how it works...

I dont know what area you reside in but in Prince Georges County MD, Comcast HSI is $42.95 a month. AOL B.Y.O.A.(Bring Your Own Access) was $14.95 (in 2000). You are going to pay almost $60 a month for internet access w/ AOL. NOT GOOD!

My Advice? GET RID OF AOL AND JUST USE COMCAST. Give all of your friends your new Comcast email address and tell all of your AOL chat room buddies that you wont be around anymore.
