Man, I guess I must be the unlucky one of you... If I try to download something dealing with video, that's a negatory for this. The lack of pings is kinda annoying but if I can use it once napster becomes defunct in its own little way... How are you guys getting these? All I get are: Remotely Queued 107 or 65... And failed connections... when you first started using this did this happen to you?

Howdy doctorfunk.

Remotely Queued= Means your going to have to wait your turn. Too many uploads at once from where your trying to download from.

Failed connections= They cut you off or just as it implys.

For quality freaks, with big pipes, you can also look for wavs. :D

For mp3 fans, look for mp3+ but you'll need a plugin for Winamp to play them.

You can find the mp3plus plugin here.

One other tip for all mp3 fans. Look for unusual bitrates. For instance, 178. Hopefully you'll be getting a LAME VBR.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

cornbread,

I determine what servers I use by Napigator.
Napigator shows you all of the servers that napsters uses, as well as many more. You can find it Here . If napster starts to make people pay just use other servers that are not run by napster.

fanta, maybe your download was corupt. Try downloading again.

cornbread,

your using a lot of different servers besides napster. thats why it works so great. You can even determine what servers you want to use.

I'm a fan of live boots. I've been looking for the Water's Boise show for a while now. Hell I figured that no one even got a tape of it. Man was I wrong, When I started using WinMX, all these great boots just popped up everywhere. Now if I could only find it in wav from someone else with no upload cap. :D

ok.. winmx maybe great.. but IMESH (www.imesh.com) is kicking ass. .right now.. Sunday Morning.. they have 50247 users online, much more than napster at almost anytime, its also a great prog. try it out!!

one thing that makes these kinds of programs great is its POPULARITY, and also of course the program it self.

For example: there maybe many programs out there that are a better software than napster, but napster kicks ass on popularity.

I tried WinMX and I didn't like it at all. I liked the selection but I didn't like all the windows that I had to manage. THey all looked clutterd. When I did find something I liked it had to resolve the server and that took time and it said something about a firewall...

Yeah, it has the worst spyware in it! I had it, i think it was called Timesink. Get rid of Imesh, then do a scan with AdAware: http://www.lavasoft.de/aaw/index.html

If you scan with AdAware first and remove the spyware, then run Imesh, it will just keep coming back. You have to uninstall Imesh then remove the spyware.

Here is a direct download link to AdAware: http://www.lavasoft.de/BINARY/awbin/aaw45.exe

fanta, glad to see you got it working :D

Any Floyd fans out there? I'm trying out the mp+ encoder!

I just did a radio show, Rarities, A Saucerful of Secrets.

Got some issues with the tagging but I'm going to set it out for upload tommorow.
I guess you might be able to find it by looking for mp+.

This format is killer. I like it better than the LAME encoder for mp3!

Jeez, WinMX kills. I had some albums I wanted, I couldn't find them anywhere in town, nowhere on napster. I eventually had to order away for a used copy of one of them specially. I got both when I searched for them on winMX on my first try!
Funny is when a fat lady walks around while someone plays the tuba. Once you've seen that, you'll never laugh at anything else. Except maybe a skeleton dancing around while someone plays the xylophone, which is almost exactly the opposite of a fat lady walking around while someone plays the tuba. Well, a skeleton is the opposite of a fat lady. But is a xylophone the opposite of a tuba? History will decide.
