Hmm, my leased line went down the drain with Nortpoint going under... I'm bck on a Road Runner cable.

The connection is really buggy, much less reliable than what I was used to. Getting IPs via DHCP, changes at least once a day. PC disconnects for a couple of secconds two-three times daily. Under such conditions it's hard to maintain the AL running, unless someone knows of a Linux version I can install on one of our servers ;)

Sorry guys, I'll try to figure something out to keep it runnning at all times.

I'm moving this week, so my cable will be down for a few days so i can't run it this week....

but Next week once everything is setlled down and If i still have a static IP at the new house I can run it again......

you'll just have to wait till next week, unless Philip can work something else out...

Philip Do you need bandwidth?
I’ve got an extra T-1 here at my company doing nothing but processing DNS request and acting as a Quake 3 server when I bring it online.

I’m right here in Clearwater, Email me if you need some bandwidth, maybe our companies can work out something

it's not a bandwith problem

SG has got plenty of it, 10Mbps I think? much higher then T1 ;)
I don't think Philip is gonna change anytime soon, we're sittin pretty right now in the way of servers/co-location

the problem with the Active List is there is no Linux version that can be run on our servers that are co-located, they run Linux, there is no Linux version of the AL server

Therefore we are forced to run it from our home place on Windows2000 or Win9x on regular Cable/xDSL whatever, Philip was running it on his SDSL and that worked great, but now that that's gone all he has left is his RR Cable Modem to run it off of, and as he already stated it's DHCP'd and changes IP's daily.

Now I use to run it, and I have a static IP that has NEVER changed, but I am moving this week, and at our new house I don't know if my IP will be static or dynamic yet.... If it's static I'd be glad to run the AL again, if not Philip and I will figure something out for ya'll ;)

How much does it take to run the AL?

Me or some OOL user would be glad to run it.

well, it takes to much to setup and move the whole database etc....

Dont worry, since Philip and I both have it installed we can both run it.... It may be a week till I can get it back online, but we will get it, thanks for offering though ;)

between our team i'm sure we can figure this one out ;) it's just a minor annoyance while I move....

Thats cool Brent but, we have a Full DS3 line pumped in here so 1.544 is not much to give out. Hell 10Mbps isn't much either

Since you guys don’t want it that’s cool, I retract my original offer then.. Just thought I would be Nice once in my life..

"Everyone knows I’m a Rat Bastard" :D

Try GlobalCrossing.com if you want a stable T-1 for under 700 a month
