media problem

media player problem damsel in distress

hi gang, i was playing my music the other night and my windows media player seems to have gone funny ,the music sounds distorted and faraway,well the music is not bad but the singing is ,sounds under water , itried watchin a film the same happened , so i tried nero media player the same again :mad: does anyone know what is wrong? :irate: i need help ,hope you can help xxxxxx p.s.

What software have you installed recently?

Maybe something has changed some settings..


Also, if you haven't done so, possibly upgrading Win. Med player will fix it..

i have updated media player ,cant think of any new software i have installed ,anything that needs to use the sound seems warbelled,someone must have ideas to what the problem could be ,HELPPP ME xx

i have tried playing a cd, the music sounded ok but the singing was in the back ground like in a hall please someone help im going mad :mad: :confused:

What Os are you running ?
Do you Have 5.1 ?
do you Have multi channel sound manager in your control panel ?
or something similar
im not talking about the sounds and audio device.


i know i was playing with the environments in the multi channel sound manager and they environments such as hallway or audotorium

just a thought

In Windows Media Player, go to View > Enhancements > SRS WOW Effects and make sure it's set to "normal."

:irate: i tried wow set to normal speakers ,nothing, my os is xp pro, i do not have 5.i anything else guys it is like a auditaurium im going mad hope to hear soon x x x x x x x

i cant understand why the music is ok and the voice is distant , i do not have multi sound manager,i have on board sound ,please someone help me i am so frustrated i feel like crying :( x x x x
