Something to Think About

Post by minir »

Hi to Everyone, hope your having a Dilly of a Day :)
====================================

The recently married young woman was weeping and pouring out her heart and troubles to the Church's appointed Marriage Counsellor.

She... "Isn't there some way, without turning into a nag, that I can keep my husband in line?"

The Counsellor scowled.

"Well young lady," he said, "maybe that's the problem, your Husband shouldn't have to wait in line!"

I realize you didn't ask for responses directly but I'm assuming some intent was there due to obvious reasons...

Of course these responses I am giving are simply literal ones in nature just for the fun of thought as your title suggested...

#1 Is misleading in that the key word is EFFICIENT and not EFFECTIVE.
#2 I'll bet it is something similar to Markie Mark's third nipple scinerio too...
#3 My father smoked for nearly 30 years and well over a pack a day and he still has all his teeth. He has quit thank goodness...
#4 Misleading again...people or person's who remain indoors without significant visitation from people would not become sick if the facility was clean...additionally isn't hyperthermia considered sick? I personally do NOT eat from salad bars or buffets except during the summer months. Just my way to keep from getting sick in addition to being a 'hand-washer' as friends have poked fun at me. LOL.
#5 A function of a living body is cellular division also does hair growth stop as well as bio-degeneration?
#6 In a world of more then 8 billion people I wonder how many people are grouped between 7.0% and 7.99%...my point being that the poll which was done in one particular small area of the world such as a New York street or a grouping of school surveys is surely not enough to claim accuracy for the entire population.
#7. That means that 21 million 24 thousand people are sent to the hospital for dog bites alone in one year...hmmmmm.
#8 Again this is misleading...what is their claim of a kneecap and wouldn't the cartiledge that is/will be the kneecap represent the kneecap? Also wouldn't the leg then bnd completely the opposite direction as well?
#9 I don't see how this one could even be claimed as an accuracy whatsoever.
#10 OK
#11 Not in my house they don't...LOL
#12 This one sounds like it was said by the same person who said "Guns kill!!!"...give me one incident where a toilet has done anything to anyone or anything without outside intervention.
#13 OK...but what about clothes hangers that are wooden as well as plastic baby coat hangers and all the plastic hangers? Surely they ALL don't measure 44 inches and if straightened I'd call it a 44 inch piece of wire, not a coat hanger.
#14 We all know that there is no such thing as an AVERAGE computer user...LOL!
#15 Again this must be misleading since the reason was not represented in the statement which is that feet are bigger in the afternoon due to this being the time most people are on their feet causing them to flaten out more either through use and or the apparel around them forming the foot over a period. Someone who works night shift and is on a seperate clock obviously is not in this category unless one is to expected to believe that feet follow an atomic clock schedule...now that makes me also question...since half the world ...in relative speaking that is, tends to be asleep in the other half of the world during afternoon time then this statement can thus only be 'half right' or a 'half truth.'
#16 How is someone to know if they ate a spider if they were asleep? This one is just ludicrous and pure malarchy. What does 'most' represent in numbers also since these "facts" are suppose to be so finite as "true or false?"
#17 I wonder what osteridge told the poll-takers this bit of information?
#18 Since bats see with sonar as well as whales etc I think this is another NOT!!!
#19 I'm glad Travolta turned down those movies because his pompousness would have ruined the movies in my opinion. 'Course, this is probably why he turned them down...pompousness.
#20 Shaamoe...Ehhh-heee (sung high-pitched) LOL
#21 I wonder if this includes all the commercials with milk being drank by actors? LOL NOT!!!
#22 Kinda like the President and the Vice are never in the same location either. Makes complete sense...
#23 I wonder if this is why they didn't run worth a rotten tomatoe until the mid 80's...LOL
#24 Not one hospital sells something to itself...for example a heart transplant costs over $750,000 but they get the heart for free from a donor all the electrical bills and life sustaining equipment are paid for the anesthetics cost about $1.75 and there is less then $2.00 in suture materials. Now I am to be expected to believe that a hospital makes money off of an umbilical cord? NOT!!!
#25 OK
#26 All I know is it comes out yellow...LOL

Enjoyed your post...

PEACE!!

Good Morning Thcranky1 & Bouncer

In the world of the tummy button (or umbilicus to give it a formal name) some people have 'innies' while others have 'outies'. It's not usually clear why a tummy button develops the shape and stance that it does, and usually it has no implications for health whatsoever. (However, friends who have had their navels pierced do tell me that it can mean that the ring hangs in a different way!).

But there are some reasons why a particularly large outie may develop, and in these cases treatment may be necessary in some cases.

Formation of the umbilicus in the unborn baby

The tummy button is formed by the point at which the umbilical cord leaves the unborn child. Under the skin there is a gap in the strong muscles of the abdominal wall to allow the cord through.

But in fact, in the very early weeks of pregnancy, where there is rapid development of the unborn baby, this gap is very large and allows the intestines to develop mostly outside the body. Before the end of the first trimester or third of pregnancy, the intestines have moved back inside the abdomen and the abdominal muscles are growing together to close the gap.

Umbilical hernia

Sometimes, something such as a small loop of intestines gets in the way to prevent full closure of the gap. This leaves a defect in the wall which allows fluid, little bits of body tissue and even intestines to protrude through, resulting in the most common cause of a larger than normal 'outie' tummy button - an umbilical hernia. (The other main but much rarer cause is an infection of the umbilicus causing a large lump of scar tissue.)

Common and usually settles without treatment

As many as 1 in 3 children may be born with a small umbilical hernia. But as the baby continues to develop, the muscles close further and the hernia gets smaller and smaller until it settles into a normal sort of tummy button. This process continues for at least the first two years, by which time most umbilical hernias have resolved.

You can easily gently push on your son's umbilical hernia to feel the edges of the gap. If the diameter is less than 2 centimetres (about an inch) then it is very likely that the hernia will have closed on its own by the time Edward is 4 years old. Nothing has been shown to speed up this process but until it closes the hernia is unlikely to cause any problems anyway. Some hernias close themselves as late as ten years of age.

Even when a child has a larger hernia it rarely causes problems. Occasionally a loop of bowel gets stuck in the gap, which may cause tummy discomfort. It can usually be gently nudged back inside but if this is not possible and the bowel is trapped then urgent treatment is needed.

It's always best to avoid surgery if possible. However, larger hernias which haven't closed on their own by school age may need a small operation to close the gap.

One can only assume because of his build that one wasn't apparent i would think?
