cant play some games with lcd monitor

i just downloaded XIII which i been waiting for, for a while and bam i get this a totally black screen which says

Out of Range
HF: 30khz - 80khz

VF: 55hz - 75hz

Current frequency

HF: 133.0 khz VF: 240hz

i believe i got a 19inch monitor running at 70hz. i tried running the game at 640X480 and no good an ideas? Thanks

i just dlded that demo too will have to install it and check it out

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

so do we got a monitor problem, i got a geforce 4 ti 4600 so i dout that is causing it and i had the same problem when i tried to install splinter cell.

i have a geforce2 mx400
I did a search on google but did not have enough time to do a good search ... will try and find some answers maybe Faq at their XIII site?

what are your refresh rates set at in your video properties. Try the adapter default setting perhaps. I used to have this problem with some games.

we have a winner! if you have an nvidia card goto the d3d refresh override and turn it down

im gonna try that but where is d3d refresh overide?

ok right click anywhere on desktop and go to properties then go to settings then advanced and ull see the name of ur graphic card and then look for direc 3d overide i stil dont know what to do to turn it down tho.

when u get to the d3d overide settings go to 640X480 and left click on default and choose 60hz that will fix it worked for me :)

right on.. is your destop 640 x 480 also?
