whatever, I got BFG 5900U and 9800 Pro 256. Only reason I got that POS ATI card was because i'm much more dedicated to Valve then I am to NVIDIA.

Basically it means both DX9 level cards have a method to overcome the lightmap problem with AA enabled

ATI = Centroid Sampling supprot (or clamp texture coordinates)

NVIDIA = Clamp Texture Coordinates with PS2.0
Between these two approaches, multi-sample anti-aliasing artifacts should be a non-issue for any DX9-level hardware running Pixel Shader 2.0.

3) How will this look?

We'll release one of the demo movies with the anti-aliasing artifacts in and one with the anti-aliasing changes.

the 9800 pro still may have the better shader speed, which will benefit hl2 a lot since it can use pixel shader 2.0

Yah, have ya cranked up the details in '42 yet? Crank the AA and AF in the display properties of the card, not just in the game.
