anybody a Ren and Stimpy fan?

Post by Faust »

the original ones before MTV got involved (after that they smacked of effort and coersion). IMO, in the later ones, the random craziness that was John Kricfaluci's hallmark was a lot less humorously offbeat, and a lot more stupid.

i was browsing an old CD-R and ran across a couple cartoons which reminded me of them.

anybody else like them or some of John K.'s other work?

Then you should be happy to know about what's going on with the show and TNN...

This whole "new" TNN thing is quite odd. A channel that used to offer nothing but line dancing and the Dukes Of Hazard is suddenly making a comeback with Star Trek and cartoons... :p

Ditto...I used to think all TNN was about was country and rodeo's, lol....in other words, I never watched it. :D Now, I can't get enought of it!!

Ren and Stimpy had some of the craziest stuff....i'm surprised Nickolodeon let them get away with some of the crap.

My favorite things was the salamander thing, and Powdered Toast Man, and when Ren & Stimpy sold those baby bottle Nipples, and just a bunch of stuff....

can't wait til TNN reruns the episodes...that will be cool.

LOL...I forgot...LOG was the coolest.

"It's LOG, LOG, fun for a girl or a boy
It rolls down stairs, over your neighbor's dog, dress it up, etc, etc" :D seems i am missing a few lines of the lyrics...

Here's what I remember of it:

What rolls down stairs
Alone or in pairs
Rolls over your neighbor's dog.
What's great for a snack
And fits on your back
It's log, log, log!

It's log, log,
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's log, log,
It's better than bad, it's good.

Everyone wants a log,
You're gonna love it, log
Come on and get your log,
Everyone needs a log...

anybody notice how Ren's Mexican accent slowly became less and less pronounced as time went on? maybe it was due to PR/political correctness. i have my ideas, but i dont know for sure. i mean.... he was a pedigreed Asthmahound Chihuahua for goodness sake, so a hispanic accent would seem appropriate.

Yeah, I enjoyed Ren&Stimpy back in the day. The close up cut scenes were great(usually of horrid, gross stuff). Miss em, oh well.

if you read the article in the link...John K did the voice until he stopped doing the show because of the editing...after that the guy who did ren's voice took over. So Im assuming this would be the reason for the voice change.
