I got rid of my cable TV and am now using antenna. I bought an LED TV today and I want to run a 15' ehternet cable from my router to a Sony Smart BluRay player to convert my LED TV to a Smart TV so I can get things like NetFlix on my TV. My question is, should I use a cheap ethernet cable or spend more for a better one? I've seen them range in price from $2 to $8 more online and in stores they're $15 or more. Thanks.
I would still get Cat5e (or Cat6) cables. because they are reusable for Gigabit Ethernet later on, and they have better conductors(wires) with lower resistance, higher frequency requirements, it's just a stricter standard.
