Symantec took over sygate also .......sygate i used to like when i ran a software fire-wall . They`ll start fees similar to MS when they took over Giant.

think , and post a few words or even mumbles of the song .

i had a site once where you put in what you can for a song/lyrics and it searches for you . i`ll see if i can dig it up.

ok , got them in . speeds have`nt increased but pages are definately loading faster. the slow speeds may be in part to my cable internet provider so maybe not alot i can do about that .

before your instruction i had the tcp optimizer downloaded. should i keep both or run one or the other , thanks ...

i`m sorry i dont understand. i only have 37 blanks for the 38 settings you posted . i cant seem to find the DefaultTOSValue blank.....thx.

strange , my cablenut has 19 on one side and 18 on the other , going left to right .

thx for the reply. did as requested and really no change with the speeds but the pages did load a tad faster. eastlink boasts up to 10 mg but i didn`t hear of anybody getting near that. i have three systems hooked to one router and i wonder if that could slow my speeds ?

Ports > xxxx are designated for dynamic allocation by Windows. When programs ask for the "next available" socket, they usually get sequential ports starting at xxxx.


this one was open each time i ran the test . sygate is configured to default settings but this one shows. is it ok to leave it ...

found it and all were checked . did as posted and will post back with my speed .

1. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need.


this is the only item i couldn`t find . is it a must that this be done ? with the rest finished i am now getting 3.3 which is almost double from before . should i do the one quoted ...

advertised.......100k/sec

average for users is 300-400k/sec


max up is 1024

max down is 5120

average being 1.5 mg/sec which is what i am presently getting


they also said that only 30% of the connections on my grid are ...
