Any other options for Broadband
I did a telco check all I can get is the slow 144kbps SDSL. So I did comcast, I pay like 95 a month for like 3 mbps down and 386 kbps up. Do I have any options that I am not aware of? I can't use a satellite dish, is there anything like wireless thats actually fast, or something like point to point ...

well if your router has xbox compatible upgradibility and you have that dumb attitude fine dont upgrade the firmware and lets see how it runs, maybe then you might say hmm maybe its firmware and not MARKETING, moron.

well then yeah its your modem, but it isnt always the modem sometimes its hit and miss, some people get good modems from their cable company.

If your having upload problems might it be your A. Using a crossover cable which crossovers are for pc to pc. B.maybe your cable companys line is messed up and your upload doesnt work at all, Ive never had a cable modem that the upload doesnt work.

I recommend
The microsoft routers are crap, if you want a xbox compatible router I dont think linksys lists it on their box so check on the xbox website, I use a D-link. their hardware is cheaper and the router works flawlessly.

DSL ALSO
Plus I would suggest getting a dsl with at least a 256 upload since they only give you like 80% of what they say it is. So even if it says like earthlink 128 up and xbox compatible you will lag becuase it usually is below 128 by a few.

Your problem is your linksys router is V2 or earlier, or its not XBOX Compatible. There are so called updates for older linksys routers, firmware meaning but they dont make it 100% xbox compatible.
