This is so a new computer could be conected and registered if you wish, but it will work for a short period of time, time enough to test you config page. I wouldn't recommend ...

The inability to access the routers interface when it stops responding is a sure sign of a bad router in my eyes.

Okay..... I don't think it is the modem due ot my past experience, but without seeing it personally I don't have an answer. I was jsut curious as to if you could still release and renew an IP from the router or does it need to be reset. I know you said you are not having a problem getting an IP, but ...

I did not read any mention of a 2000 DC on the network, working as a field technician for AT&T, when we were @Home a manual proxy was specified in the registry, when @Home went under I had to manually go into the registry for my customers and remove the proxy setting. You might try checking the reg ...

Jacks, I am a Field Technician for AT&T Broadband (soon to be Comcast) and I have worked with the surfboard modems extensively for the last few years. And I must say that the Surfboard is an excellent modem, I have not had any such issues of which you speak of.

When your service stops working have ...

I understand where you are coming from, my internal network is running at 100mbps, I am running my DC in Native Mode and all my workstations are running XP so NetBEUI is not an option. I appreciate the thought.

I do change MTU settings and such for some of my customers to help their connections ...
