Okay, here's what I did.
Uninstalled Zone Alarm and then entered Safe Mode. Still a no go.

So I bit the bullet and did a clean install of XP Home.

All is well. :)

No advise yet? I'll try, but my knowledge is limited. I'd connect a router, with DHCP turned on, to the sat modem. Then connect the other PCs to it, using however many ethernet switches required. The router will assign internal IP addresses to those PCs. It doesn't matter how many static IPs the ...

We haven't got into using it yet. But, like I mentioned, it will only be used for internet usage and for getting lesson plans from the CE's office PC. Obviously, if many errors start showing up, I'll throttle it back to 10Kb.

Thanks for the input.

Phase 2 is complete

This phase was to add protection to the line between buildings and to run the Cat5e to the room inside the church where it most likely will be used. This required running the line above a drop ceiling and fishing it through a wall. Since this church is 100+ years old you can imagine how dirty this ...

Are you talking about the wires going to the adsl modem? There are only two needed. Usuallly the red and green. Or maybe you have a voice/data filter? The the two lines from the data side go to your modem.

Did you reset the modem? Give us details of your connections.

Expanding Church LAN

Background: Verizon DSL connected to 8 port switch with 5 PCs and a LAN enabled copier/printer. This is all in a building separate from the church.
