Both packet loss and choke have a affect on ping.. I've noticed that when my Choke spikes to 50++ my ping jumps up from 100 to 500+++ and this is a real problem.

cable... I just found out it only happends during the day. like from 1:00pm to 11:00pm... after that everything is good and low ping of 60-100..

I was just wondering what Choke is in counter strike when you type net_graph 3?? I find that in combat this can spike upto 50++. Is there anything that can be done about this?? My ping also is unstable.

Can any thing be done about a ping that spikes up and down all the time?? I find when I'm playing CS my ping goes from 80 to 300 most of the time and is never constant/stable.. Is there anything I can tweak that might solve this problem??

I've done this with dsl but not cable but i hear its the same... if you plug the cable modem and each computer(up to 3 depends on ISP) into a hub each computer will get there own IP free

yeah... if you got a hub the best way to split your connection for 2 computers is by using direction connections. Meaning plug everything into the hub(cable modem and each computer) and install any software on each computer. Most ISP's allow you to do this with 2 computers some allow 3computers.
