NICs in the PC have their order of precedence that can be changed, generally wired NICs have higher priority (called metric). You can choose which NIC is the default, so most Internet traffic will go through it. There is more info on how to do that here:

The Windows 7 Readyboost issue has become mostly a moot point. Today, the best and most efficient way to speed up any system is to replace your HDD with an SSD drive. Here is one of the better models:

I apologize Sava, back when I bought one I swear it said 4GB was the limit, looking over things now, it was the limit for Vista SP1 but SP2 and 7 allows for a much larger size. Thanks for the correction.
