as someone pointed out on another board...

the <script> tag needs to be closed, otherwise IE chokes.

but what I don't understand is that the script tag is in a way closed <script ... /> . but now I'm forced to do <script ...></script> .

Also if I tilt the drive around I hear a sound. I guess it's bearings(??) since I can't see anything moving and when I turn the spindle I hear the same sound. Is this normal or is it broken?

My cdrom just died on me

My CDRom drive just died on me....can it do that?
It's not very old, maybe 2 years..

I used it the one moment, minutes later it's dead. When I reboot my system freezes at IDE detection. And now nothing happens when I give the drive power... no led, no noise. nothing.

Yes, I think I'll have to kick a few bucks out of someone and go for the Ti4200. I do want something that I can keep for a while. Only games I do play in Linux is Q3A, NWN, UT2K3 and maybe Counterstrike. Anything else I'll have to play in Windows :)

I also have a Gigabyte ATI Radeon 9200 64MB on the list for a bit cheaper than the Geforce. But I'm going to use the card in Linux.... I'm not really sure if I'll have luck with Radeon. I need to be sure first.

Is the Geforce faster than the Radeon?

Oh and will I be better of non-OEM cards ...

Ok, I've looked at the program, seems that the decrypt program is reading the flatfile wrong.
Something about the "comma" character in the file causing the >> operator to split up the data.
I tried opening with ios::binary, but still had that ...

Looks like I'll have to make use of that isIE variable afterall (I was trying to stay away)

Since IE doesn't have the event object passed as a parameter for the function.

Whats the most standards-compliant way.....

.....to handle events in Internet Explorer and Mozilla?

I'm currently trying to use the DOM2 Event interface, it works nicely in Mozilla but Internet Explorer hates me for doing that :(

I'm thinking of going the lone way...for now, since jobs are super scarce in this town of mine.

I prefer coding HTML using VIM, since syntax highlighting can really speed up straight coding.

I would not rule out WYSYWIG. But if I have to use WYSYWIG I would prefer Dreamweaver over Frontpage ...

I still prefer coding by hand, it a personal preference.
The same reason why I basically dislike wysiwyg.
I guess what SRF01 said, if it's gonna get me a job, I wouldn't say no. At least something like Dreamweaver and maaaybe Frontpage :p

If you are using Python in windows, you can try and get your hands on py2exe.

http://starship.python.net/crew/theller/py2exe/

You need to create another .py that imports the py2exe module and contains info about the program. You then run this file with python and it will create an exe.
