Thanks for the reply but it is allready solved.

The network card connected to the cable modem was set to full duplex. I set it too half duplex and now I can surf again with speeds upto 900kb/s. :)

I was surfing with full duplex on for months. :(

I have a really strange problem here.
Three computers on @home account.

One computer(winxppro) has the direct connection, the other two(winxppro and win98) are connecteced with windows ICS and a hub.

I'm an advanced computer user but tweaking these setings manually is relatively new to me...

I'm on athome cable, athlon 800 with 640mb ram, windows XP.
Are the following figures any good?

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Well, athome rules i think. But it rules more in your country I suppose.

They capped my upload to 16kb/s but download is 600-700kb/s standard.

Why do they cap that upload so much?

Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0; AIRF)

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500

Sorry, that must be it. This is probably the european version.

I am in the Netherlands and that E must stand for Europe offcourse. I think the difference here is encryption strength.

Here in the netherlands i have athome and I get 400 till sometimes 800 kb/s download speed easily. This is really awesome for that kind of cash (40 dollar/month).
oh, they don't give a **** about how many you download. Sometimes I do gigabytes a day and you don't hear them complain about it ...
