Cable Modem\Router

Could anyone please give me a list of cable modems that offer routing capabilities, such as NAT and DHCP? My current cable modem is a RCA DCM425.

Thanks,
Mike

Seems I'm having a slight problem pinging computers on my network. I can ping using their IP Address, but not by their Netbios Name (\\Computername). Two computers are using XP Pro and the other is using Win98SE. I can also access the computer via internet explorer by typing the name in the address ...

Help Upgrading CPU

My motherboard supports a P4 Processor up to 2.6GHZ\400FSB. I currently have a P4 @ 1.6GHZ installed. I've been looking online all day long trying to find a compatible 2.6GHZ\400FSB processor, but I keep running into 533FSB\800FSB Processors! So, What I was wondering was, would it be possible to use ...

Do you have WPA or WEP enabled on the Router? I ran into the same problem a couple of months ago. I had to double check my security settings, seems there was a slight inconsitency.

Browser\Wireless Connectivity

Just wondering if anyone can push in the right direction. Every once in awhile my wireless computers will lose their connection with the Router, which by the way is acting as a wireless access point\Switch (DHCP disabled). However the wired computers are still able to get online. Does anyone know ...

Thanks for the reply, I'll hopefully be able to find a cheap switch, one around 25.00 would be nice. Damn best buy and their overpriced products!!! I guess I'll have to check out Newegg or Tigerdirect.

Replacing Router With Switch

I'm wondering if this would be possible, I've currently got 4 computers, including my xbox 360, and I would like to replace my router with a 8 port switch. I believe my modem is capable of performing NAT and DHCP services. Would this setup work? Would I still be able to share an internet connection ...

Stealing Internet Access

I happened to take a look at my DHCP Client table today and realize that I am providing wireless access to an additional 4 computers, so I've deleted them from the table. Will this stop them from accessing my network? Would it be beneficial if I blocked their MAC addresses?

Router And Modem Question

I'm currently studying for the Network+ Certification Test, so far I have a good grasp on things but something has got me stumped. I was looking at the settings for my Wireless Router and Modem, the modem is set as a DHCP server, as is the Router. Wouldn't having two DHCP servers cause problems ...
