WOW.... I am having the same problem on Comcast HSI.

I have an WRV54G Rev. 02 Wireless VPN Router and I am using am Linksys BEFCMU10 Rev. 4 Cable Modem. I have had numerous problems since comcast has introduced the powerboost feature into service.

What is happening is I am paying for the 8.8MB ...

But why would my router connection slow down connected to my linksys cable modem and not a DSL modem. On DSL it runs at full bandwidth and on cable it runs ate 1.2 - 1.5mb, on DSL I get the full 5.0mb. Cable should be running at 8.8 which is what I use to.

I have reset it many times. My DSL is static IP and I hardcode it into the router. With Cable it's DHCP.

Linksys is telling me I have to clone the MAC address of one of my computers to get it to work, since when have we had to do this. I have been on HSI with comcast since introduced in 2001 here ...

Is there no one that has any ideas on what may be causing these problems? It's not over heating cause it only does it on the comcast connection and not the DSL. Is the linksys cable modem firmware and the WRV54G incompatiable?

Ok, heres an update.

I replaced my router, modem, and installed a smartswitch. Comcast has found some levels out of wack on their end and has replaced taps including running and new RG-11 line to my home. The levels are now as follows.

And what am I doing with this actually? This is happening to all my computers, not just mine. I have two laptops, my sons computer, my computer and they are all affected. Comcast says they can see spikes in the bandwidth and dropping to almost nothing. They have a crew scheduled to replace the ...

I replaced my modem this afternoon with a Linksys model modem. Levels are still the same and I am not pulling anything more than 2mb download.

I had a tech come out, he was pretty good and listen to me and looked at all the print outs I had, errors, tracerts, pings, and documentation. He found some bad taps out on the pedestal at the road, and ordered some things to be replaced, but that didnt help. He tested my modem and said it was ...

I am getting alot of page cannot be displayed when trying to see the signal on my cable modem. I have compared to the one posted and the lowest I have seen is 29 where 21 of signal to noise is.
