cFosSpeed has anyone used it?
Hi. I recently came across this program, cFosSpeed, which is supposed to optimize and speed up network traffic by, and I quote, "means of Traffic Shaping. Traffic Shaping is a method for optimizing the Internet traffic. It allows maximum speed while ensuring minimal Ping. You can use cFosSpeed with ...

OK, I just did as you instructed and then (after rebooting) run a new speed and ping test. Both upload and download speeds were exactly the same. The ping test showed some improvement:
Ping: 18 ms
Jitter: 8 ms
I have yet to test the performance with P2P and regular downloads.
I´ll check that out and ...

Need assistance tweaking
Hi. I would like to get some assistance in tweaking my TCP/IP stack to maximize download speeds, mostly P2P. I have a 3 Mb cable connection on Windows XP Home SP3 fully updated.
Below are my TCP Analyzer and Speedtest/Pingtest.net results. Thanks a lot in advance.

The cable modem (Scientific Atlanta 2000 series I think, what my ISP gave me, never had a problem with it) are probably not a foot apart (I´m from Argentina so I think in centimeters, they must be at maybe 40 centimeters or so apart) but I don´t have the room to place them further apart.

Need help with a WRT54G2 router
Hi. I recently bought a Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router to be able to have my new Playstation 3 connected to the internet since it´s on a different room than my computer. Ever since my network performance has decreased even if the PS3 is off (or not using the internet). My computer (Windows XP Home ...

I intend to change the internal wiring within the next few days, which would allow me to do without the splitter I´m using now (also, even though it´s not directly related to this I´m thinking of formatting my PC and make a fresh start). If the problem persists I will contact my ISP. I suspect it´s ...

I run all 3 programs (I had already run Ad Aware 2007) and they mostly found traces and tracking cookies. That a-Square program seems fishy to me, it identified as trojan the exe files for 2 of my games, Counter Strike and a Battlefield 2 mod which every other program I´ve run (Spy Sweeper, NOD32 ...

OK. I made those changes but I´m not sure the TCP Optimizer is actually applying them because the confirmation window showed different values, so I am including a TCP Analyzer test, as well as another speed test and another test from that other site you told me about. Here they are:

I am downloading right now, but my computer should be clean, I use Spy Sweeper 5.2, SpywareBlaster and NOD32, and of course Firefox, but I´ll give it a try. BTW, I have Windows XP Home, SP 2, fully updated. Once again, should I increase the number of half open TCP connections (currently set to 100 ...

Hi. I recently changed my ISP. My TCP/IP is currently optimized (following Trogers advice) for a 640 k connection. My new connection has an advertised download speed of 2,5 Megs and an upload speed of 256 Kbs upload. I would like some help optimizing my TCP/IP (results from the TCP Analyzer and a ...

Thanks for the input
Hi Trogers. I will make the changes you mentioned and see if there´s any improvement. I currently have my torrent global upload speed limited to 11 ks. One thing, you mentioned that my RWIN is set too high, but I don´t see a value for it in your recommendations. What should I set it to? Thanks again ...

Slow P2P speeds
Hi everyone. I am new to the forums so please excuse any gross errors. I am experiencing low speeds using P2P programs (direct downloads and browsing are fine, I get speeds of up to 68 Ks using Getright), mostly with Bitcomet and eMule (Limewire usually works fater -I don´t run more than one P2P ...

Beware of Comodo
Hi everyone. I have tried Comodo recently, and even though I liked it I had to remove it because it caused a lot of BSODs in my (brand new) computer... and I was not the only one, lots of people in their forums seem to be experiencing the same thing with their latest versions and they provide no ...
