Wireless Network: Streaming problems with DI-624

Hello,

I have my MP3s on my server and I stream them to my other PCs, both wired and wireless over my network. My wired computers have no problem, however...

My wireless laptops have problems streaming the MP3s. I use Winamp and I set my server to share files. I can listen to maybe a minute or two ...

Get rid of the serif fonts.

Pick a sans-serif. Something such as Arial, Verdona, etc.

The blue text is tough against the black background. Possibly bold the blue so it's a bit easier to read.

Looks good to start off with, though ;)

vB will cost you some money if you want the full version (and you will ... the free version is way too watered down)

Check out http://www.phpbb.com - free PHP / MySQL (typically) driven forum. Becoming very popular. It has a lot of schemes and tweaks for it already.

I've got the D-Link DFE-530TX+

I had a similar problem.

When you share your drive or folders, be sure to rename the shared name. By default, I think Windows uses a hidden name so you can't see the drive/folder in NN.

Just great. My luck, I spread the IP all over one afternoon, and that night the server goes down. :(

Sigh. We're having someone check the server. Seems as if it went in to sleep mode, even though it was up for 4 days without a problem?

Computers. Go figure.

My clan recently got a new server in Ohio. Off of one machine there's a public and a private server. The public server is open to anyone who knows the IP. The server is not advertised, so you won't get the brand new players. ;)

a crossover cable is nothing more then your standard straight through cable with four wires switched on one side end of the cable.

that means, (drum roll) a crossover cable will give you the same, and most likely better, performance then if you were to add a switch in the middle!

It doesn't sound like you're IP is the problem.
Therefore, releasing and renewing will not help. Your router should assign you an IP Address via DHCP - a local ip address (either 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x) that can't be seen outside of your router.

Do you have to reboot your router in order to regain ...

You need an equal balance between the two. Most games send just as much as they receive. Having more of one then the other won't help, because the slower one - whichever that one is - will cause the server to feel like mud, or skyrocket your ping.
