I flashed the bios, i am still geting the same problem, I was messing around with it and it seems to act as if there is no cpu installed or something. So i took out the cpu and it does the exact same thing, as when it in there.

WHen i created my raid setup, i chose to use 64k cluster, i now know that this was a bad choice. How does this effect my performace compared to a smaller cluster?

I have a geforce2 mx, some people are claiming to be getting 100fps with this same cards, i am only getting 75 max. What are you guys getting, if its 100fps what are your settings, drivers, and tweaks you use?

I use to run a slot a atlon classic 900, the chip was more stable when i coated the whole metal plate with compound, it didnt regester a cpu temp, but i know it was cooler cause i could overclock it further.

The raid setup is great, far faster then one drive. I havent had the dvd drive for too long, so i have only had time to pop in about 5 dvds, they all worked, gone in 60, happy gilmore, perfect storm, 8mm,and one other i forgot. When i am watching a dvd the drive itself doesnt make a noise.

I just got an aopen 1640 16x dvd
when playing dvds its quiet, also when playing music, but when you put in a data cd you can hear it, its extremely fast. I have a 16x burner and i can only copy audio cds at 12x which isnt too bad, i can copy data at 16x easy.

You can just put them on cds as data, you can later copy them from the cds back to the harddrive if needed. Although you wont be able to listen to them in a cd player or discman until you have properly decoded them.

The geforce2 ultra is the fastest, i upgraded from a voodoo3 3000 agp to an geforce2 mx ddr, it is much better then my old card, i recomend the upgrade to you

a p3 will outperform a higher mhz celeron, the p3's are of much better quality, I think that you will like the p3 more, you can overclock it aswell. I; sure you can get it to 750 or 800, it would blow away a celeron at the speed.

I am in need of a new dvd rom, my burner is a 16x so i need something fast to copy cds.

By the way its an abit kt7a-raid board. duron 700, i would just raise the bus more but my ram cant handle it. I know i can overclock more cause my temps stay around 32 all the time. I think i can get another 100mhz out of it.

You will use the drivers that came with it as far as i know, you are gonna want to make sure you have the agp drivers installed that came with your motherboard. I know that some of the older via chipset boards have some problems with some of the newer video cards, goodluck.

Have you tried turning the ord around the other direction, i had to do that on one of my other motherboards, if that doesnt work, you can get some much better heatsinks, and fans, from either ocz.safeshopper.com or 3dfxcool.com most of them will fit.

I had the same problem when i changed my motherboard, go into device manager and cdroms and click your dvd, and enable Dma.

It fixed my problem.

I too have a creatice 8x 4x 32x, ever since i got my kt7a-raid i have had problems with it, buffer underruns and skippy mouse problems, the cdroms are on different ide cables, i can only copy certain cds, not all of them willl copy, mostly ones with the auto play feature wont work.

On the abit boards you dont have to lower the multiplier to run at 133 bus, if you set it to 133 bus it will change the multiplier for you. very convienant.

I have two western digital 7200 40 gigs in raid 0 and on the sisoft drives bench i score about 35,000 ,i know someone that has two of those ibm drives the Gxp drives and he gets like usually around 40,000.
