Re: Time for a new phone
I used to always et Galaxys. Last one failed after 2 years. Got a Pixel 8 when it first came out and love it. Just the bare bones android system w/out the bloat that comes with other phones. No facebook, no games, no garbage. Good for me because I only use the phone for calls, txt, pictures, email ...

Re: Aero Admin Problems
Rustdesk does not require self-hosting, though it would be most efficient that way. They have a stand alone exe (no install) and an msi (installed). The stand alone lacks certain admin functions due to Windows security defaults.

I used to always use Teamviewer until it got quirky and too too much bs. Recently started using https://rustdesk.com/, free & opensource too.

Best way to learn is to take and older (or newer) computer and install a Linux distribution on it (not dual boot your main computer). Fiddle with it and learn as you go. Then wipe it and install a different distribution on it. Repeat process. Have no concerns about breaking things because you will ...

Replaced the camera at nest 2 and some power components.
Winters here are hard on outdoor electronics.
Eggs should be hatching in a week or so.

I use a random orbit sander every few years on my table saw top which is kept in my garage. After sanding off the rust layer I coat it with any oil or wax from an unscented candle. The wax makes wood slide easy too.

Interesting.. I didn't realize they let you use your own router, and that they require coax for channel guide.
AT&T GigaFast Fiber charges you for the equipment/install, but there is no recurring rental of their modem/router (unlike Comcast, Cox, and Verizon, apparently).
Yes, can use own router ...

Dumping my cable Internet after 19 years
First got cable Internet in 1999, Roadrunner.
After 19 years Cox has failed to keep up with the competetion.
My current plan is 100 mb download and only 10 mb upload, $79/mo.
Just had FIOS installed (no charge) and get 100 mb down and 100 up for $55/month for 1st year, after that it goes up to $70 ...

32bit and 64bit have nothing to do with the hard drive or its partitions. It has to do with the processor architecture. 64bit operating systems should also be able to run 32bit software IF the software is compatible. If it's not then you'll have to partition the drive and install a second operating ...
