justin,

I am running both BlackICE and zone alarm.
There are a few things to know about zone, or u won't be able to connect.
After you install, in the security section, make sure the sliders are set to medium, and that block local, and internet servers is unchecked.
Been running both since the new ...

Running both here too. Works very well.
Zone Alarm is nice in that it looks at traffic BOTH ways, and only allows the programs that you want to talk to the outside.
(which means cracked software can't "phone home" some do. just a warning)

Wise man told me once,
"Better to have it, and not need it. Than to need it and not have it."

Better to have it, just in case. I look at it like Anti-Viri prog. Betcha got that on your PC, and use it regularly, just to be safe.

Same thing, it's a "just to be safe" measure.
Too many things in most ...

Need to know exactly how your network is set up. That will help in trying to figure out how to get it to work.
lemme ask you this though, After the install, when you tried to access from the other pc, Did blackice show that pc as an intruder, or not at all ?

BlackD IS PART of blackice.
BlackICE has two programs in it.
1) blackice.exe
2) blackD.exe
when you download blackice, you get both files.
Blackd runs in the background, blackice(in system tray) configures blackd
get it yet ?

Go here:

www.hackerwhacker.com

You have to use a valid pop-3 e-mail account to get a password to do the scan. But it's worth it.
Have fun.

UHHHHHH.... Guys.......
You NEED to be running Blackd. That's whats keeping your PC safe. Blackice.exe is the program sitting in your systray. It's the GUI FOR Blackd.exe . Without Blackd.exe running, your ports are wide open fer attack.

Now, as far as having Blackd starting up twice, blackd had a ...

BLACICE 1.9.4 USERS READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

TIP FOR VER. 1.9.4 USERS!!!

Add this line to your blackice.ini file :
icecap=disabled

it will prevent blackd from contacting a network ice server setup to track "intrusions".
Turns out 1.9.4 was sent out as a beta to some "specific" users, as a trial. When they released the version to the public ...

tass
the only thing u can do , is up the front side bus speed.
Celerys are clock locked, meaning, changing the multiplier won't do diddly fer u.
Only problem i can see fer u is, using an oddball front bus speed. The pci bus speed is derived from front side bus speed.
PCI bus speed is set at 33 mhz ...
