I have been using this Motorola CyberSurf since July 1998. Will the Toshiba modem provide a better connections?

Will the ...

I feel your pain.

Several months ago, city utility crew cut my and next door neighbor's cable line in the back alley. I called local ATT Cable office for help. Since I was not a TV subscriber, local office would not offer any help. I had to call @Home's 800 number for help. You know what! @Home ...

In some foreign countries, other than U.S.A., ISPs charge ADSL by the connection time. It makes sense to use PPPoe to let the users have the choice to connect or not to connect. But, in the case of ADSL in U.S.A., most ISPs are offering unlimited always-on service. It makes no sense to use PPPoe ...

I am using ATT@Home cable internet. For unknown reason, when I made DialPad phone call, the delay was horrible and the receiving party could not hear me. However, if I use either the MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger, the voice quality is much, much, much better.

Conclusion is to try every free ...

How to open ports under Sygate

I was trying to use the Yahoo Messenger to make PC to Phone calls. Since the Enable Enhanced Security of Sygate 3.0 (Built 520) was used, I could not make PC to Phone calls. However, I could make PC to PC voice chat.

Thanks for your reply. I was not awared that it was not legal not to reveal complete IP address. Since I saw a lot people not showing IP address in those BBS sites, I thought it was common practice not showing IP address.

Not Showing IP Address

I am using ATT@Home Cable service. ATT@Home assigns me a static IP address. When I go to some BBS sites, I can see my complete IP address shown on the board. I don't feel good about this. It feels like running naked on the street and everybody is watching me.

Is there a way not to show my IP address?

Problem in using Sygate to share cable modem

I built a 3-PC LAN and use Sygate to share the external Motorola cable modem. I could surf the internet from all three PCs with no problem. However, I could not access the email server from the two Sygate client PCs. Any suggestion to solve this problem?
