shame on me!

i have a 512meg stick of corsair 3000xms, but I needed more because of all the video encoding I do.

I was able to pick up a 256kingston value stick of pc2100 for $35AR and I couldnt resist. I plan on getting into a new setup in the next six months (ram and mobo), so it wont be forever. I already have a buyer in mind for that stick when I dont need it anymore. it's good for everyone.

I havent put it in yet, i'll post how it works.

well... I'll probably be replacing both sticks in six months with DDR2 or whatever the flavour is. I'm confused what's coming out, but I want the dual ram setup that's supposed to give you 30% more speed. If it'll still work with the pc3000xms, then I figure it'll cost me 200 for the new 512meg ram stick and 150 for the motherboard. worth the cost.

I havent even put it in yet, but how my motherboard is I can oc my p4 to 2.4 and my ram will sit at 260. perfect for this ram.

Wouldnt the Cheaper Kingston cause the XMS to run slower and possibly be a weak link in your OC?

it's all about what you set it to.

for what I'm using my puter for, cpu speed is more important. Plus, I dont have a manual ratio splitter. So, if I oc my cpu too high; the ram slows down.
