LCD CPU Monitor

Hey this LCD CPU Monitor right here I would like to get it but a few questions stand in my way. First of all it is battery powered don't like the idea of that. And second the instructions say to stick the probe not between the heatsink and the cpu but on the other side on the core, is this safe???

* Thing is I have to get something this size because I have one 5 1/4 bay that I have my variable rpm, 2 toggle switches to my cclights, and wanted this to fill in the space. Anyway its like 18 bucks shipped.
