Bios Sees New Hdd But Windows Cant

ok i decided to install the new HDD i got to put it on the same IDE cable on which is the MAIN HDD. The Bios sees both HDD the main HDD ans master and the NEW HDD as a slave. The computer booted up normally and when i double clicked "My Computer" icon there was no HDD I CAN SEE THE OLD ON ( THE MAIN ) , BUT i CANNOT SEE THE NEW HDD WHAT CAN I DO TO SOLVE THAT ??????

Have you fdisked, partitioned and formatted it?

have you partitioned it?
IF yes, then please check the back of the HD for the jumper array and make sure you have correctly positioned the HD jumpers.

i have the disk that comes with the HDD and i am going to boot from that thats the way right??

my advice is to f-disk and format in dos mode. To do so you have to boot into a pure dos enviroment. Do you have an old Win98 boot disk?

If that's a little tough for you, then I suggest using the western digital software. Very nice and easy, plus still works in a dos enviroment. If you didnt buy a WD hard drive, you can still down load the software from thier website for free.
