hdd wont restart

i have a wd 120 gig hdd, and ive never been able to restart it? i can shut it down but cant restart, from start shut down-restart and if i press the case restart button i have to do it 2 times?

win98 2nd, xp1900 wd 120gig hdd abit kg7 motherboard-raid, but ive not set up the raid..

Have you tried the "Auto Detect Hard Drives" feature in the bios. Just a Guess. This may help it recognize the drive better.
