Network Connections problem in XP Pro

Post by Mo125 »

Hey everyone, I recently reformatted to Windows XP Pro and was trying to set up ICS (internet connection sharing) but when i look under the advanced tab of the properties for the ethernet card that has the cable connection that I wish to share, there is an error message that says:

"Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. THe WIndows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted."

It then says to use system restore to go back to a point at which this worked, but this hasn't solved the problem. It is under this advanced tab that the setting for ICS are located and I cannot turn it on with the error message there. How can I get the WMI to function properly so I can enable ICS or is there another way that I can enable it?
