Drop down the console. Type record blah.dem and it will record. To stop it type stop .dem :D

You need this

Install it, find the demos in your HL folder and your all set

hey thanks it works except when it goes to play it goes for about 5-10 seconds then the graphics get all funked up and it kicks back to the desktop.

i think the problem may be it frezzes up when it loads to a new level in half-life in the demo.

Hmm... the first description sucked, dunno about the linked file or whatever... but here is the commands...

record demonamehere.dem - start recording
stopdemo - stop recording
playdemo demonamehere.dem - play the demo

I've got more advanced commands for making the demo into a file which can be converted into an avi/divx/whateverthehellyouwant if you want that stuff too...

Here's where I learned at...

http://csanimation.arenawars.net/making2.shtml

I've done 1 cs video and 1 dod video... it's fun to play with :) but it's a time investment...

when you take the timedemo and do startmovie then timedemo agian, it will go ever so sloowly...
