Norton Antivirus 2002 !! Hmm i start to like Synantec .

I install it and start running it .

Its the Norton antivirus 2002 ver.8

Damn its really fast , not just fast , realy really fast .

It uses all the bandwith of my hard drives .

This new Yellow color sucks a bit

i liked more the blue one .

But this version looks to be clean for good work in win2k and XP boxes .

It uses like 8 to 10 megs of ram wen it makes a full system scan .
And 5.2 megs idle .
Thats my first impresions of it , after of one week of use , i will can say more about it .

I've always liked the Norton stuff except the firewall.

The norton firewall , first version is the best .

But the company that did it that was not symantec , was having in mind one really pro software firewall .

Symantec did the mistake to promote it as the most friendly software for internet protection .

Well the software is a friendly one , but only in the users that have some experties in networks .

Norton antivirus 2002 is very fast, it kinda botherd me as to if it was doing a proper job.

I disagree, there is absolutley no major improvement between Norton antivirus 2001 and 2002. It uses the same engine (the slowest one i've seen) to scan for viruses so I don't recommend upgrading to 2002 only reason to upgrade would be if you have winXP couse thats the only one that works properly with XP.

Maybe you should try it before posting your opinion about it.

I used norton antivirus 2000, 2001, 2002, corparate ed 7.5. Out of all corparate is the best one but there are no major differences between the three as they all scan using the same engine which is slow. Another the thing i don't like about Norton AV is it becomes useless against a big time viruses (for ex: win32.cih) but AVP did the job right so I am sticking with it for now.
