I Hate Computers!!!!

Just finished reinstalling win98 for the 7th time,on the ´pooter that had the JERUSALEM-ZIPEATER virus.went to logon to my network,it brought up a confirmation window for the password which was already installed, and then flashes up

"Error loading explorer.exe.
You must reinstall windows"

wasssupp????
P.S. took battery out of mobo to reset BIOS,formatted 3 times on last installation because win98 setup froze.

You will proubly have to reformat the drive. In order for this proublem to stop. Just reinstalling windows will not help. If you need instruction on how to use the fdisk method. Email. I will send then to you. ;) Also after you reformat each computer if you are running more then one. Make sure you run a good virus program on all of them along with a good firewall/ If they are network they will keep passing the virus back and forth. even if you have a firewall and you network or firwall not set up right. Like I said if you need help email me. :( belive me my sister learned the hard way when I tried to tell her to run a good virus program and firewall. I spent enough time redoing her computer from virus till she listen to me. ;)

How long did you take the battery out for? You should leave it out for HOURS, not minutes. First, take your mobo out of the case. then put it on a telephone book to elminate static. Remove the battery and leave it there for at least three hours. Then put it all back togther. Do a format and then a scandisk. I would try and find a differant windows oem disk too. If you've had that much trouble, I would almost blame a bad disk/burn.

Thanks for the replies,Guys!

To Storm90,
I think I´ve figured out how to to use fdisk.Had a go on one of the others where I got fed up with Me playing up.Seems to have worked OK,have now got 2 drives and no probs so far.XXXXXX <------ (crossed fingers)
with the ´pooters that were playing up after the viruses,I reformatted disks but also wiped and reinstalled DOS and that seems to have cured the misbehaviour.Dunno why,but there you go,that just proves that computers are just like women,The more illogical the idea, the better it works!!!

Would appreciate it though,if you could give me an idea how to configure my anti-virus to provide firewall and Sandbox protection, the more I look into it the more I get confused. I have E-Safe Desktop installed.
Would have sent this by email, but I don´t have your address.

Thanks again and sorry for the long reply.
